Ashlyn's Preschool graduation

Our little girl is getting bigger by the moment!  This past week Ashlyn graduated from Preschool.  We debated over putting Ashlyn into preschool when we moved here.  The school year was just about to start when we arrived and we would have to find something quick before slots were all taken.  Luckily I heard about a woman in the ward who did preschool in her home and after much debate, we decided Ashlyn really needed the learning outlet and the opportunity to meet new friends.  I can tell you that it made the moving transition 1,000 times better for her, which was such a blessing!  But what was even better, was the entire Preschool experience for her.  Ms. Debra is an AMAZING teacher!  Ashlyn loved going to school and would have gone everyday if she could.  We watched as she began to learn her letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and then transition into learning more and more.  Days of the week, months of the year, sight words, and she even began reading short books.  I couldn't believe how much her class learned and how well she was picking up on things.  Preschool ended up being such a wonderful experience for all of us and her recent graduation was a bitter sweet moment.  Not only is Ashlyn done with Preschool and heading off to Elementary School in the fall, but we had to say a heartfelt goodbye to Ashlyn's teacher Ms. Debra as they are moving to Texas.  I can't tell you how much Debra will be missed.  Ashlyn always talked about her and even called me Ms. Debra on occassion at home.  She really had such a great bond with her and got super excited everytime she saw her outside the classroom.
Here are some of the pictures from the graduation:

The book Ms. Debra compiled of word-to-word statements from the kids over the school year.  She laughed as she read her favorite "When I grow up, I want to be.." quote where Ashlyn said she wanted to be  "a rock star!"  It's true!  This girl goes around the house daily putting on shows, singing, dancing, and making hilarious games up!
Getting her diploma--it makes it so much more official!

At the very end, she ran up to Ms. Debra and told her she was the best teacher and she loved her.
It was a little tear jerker for us all!
We'll miss you Ms. Debra and thanks for a great school year!
